Music + Technology + Psychology = Innovation and One Excellent Career

You have to admit that technology is making it much easier and more personal to enjoy music. No longer do you have to be attached to a boom box or stereo system to enjoy your favorite tunes. You can wear an increasingly smaller computer device on your arm, or in your shoe and be humming along as you walk, jog or run thanks to iPods and MP3 players.

What might be the next generation of technology + music innovation?  Following a tweet from BigThink tonight, I discovered Tod Machover, Composer and Inventor at MIT Media Lab. Machover suggests that new heights of customization are on the horizon, where music will be tailored to match your mood. Check out his video interview explaining this proposal.

Now that’s a career path worth pursuing. Who wouldn’t have fun working along side Machover and his colleagues to design such an interface?
